I live a short distance from Grass Valley, where the fuselage is being rebuilt. I would be interested in going, if possible, to see it and meet the people responsible for the job.

I think it is great that people can come together to do a great service for our veterans and country men so they can see history fly again.

Very nice to see my uncle's stories (Sooner & Sooner II) told to so many interested in what was one of our countries worst wars, and most forgotten.

My husband's uncle Stephen was on this plane. I have sent a note to Robert Ready.

We are very much interested in hearing about the restoration. Stephen Breining was my husband's uncle. His sister in law, Effie Breining, widow of Scott Breining, who was Steve's younger brother, lives in Medway, Oh.

Our oldest son Stephen, named for Stephen Breining, lives in Jamestown, Oh.

Bob, this is great. You are doing a great thing here for the future generations. Our young people need to have a sense of what these men did for our country. Thank You, Tom Popp

It is amazing how you can restore an airplane that is such a "basket case" as you have on your hands. Good luck...

Hello, I for one do thank you gentlemen for this wonderful memorial, for I have flow in 26 missions in the most beautiful and no doubt the greatest Air Craft that was ever built, and no doubt in my mind will there ever be another as great. Some folks may disagree with me but any Air Craft that brings you home 26 times, all shot up and in terrible shape like A/C #231582 "Ol'Scrapiron", who was flown by 30 different crews, completed 62 missions, was downed on its 63rd mission 3/23/45, on a mission to Holzwickede, Germany. Its tail was severed off by another B17 that had lost its wing. Byron Schlag my good friend was in the tail of "Ol'Scrapiron" and survived and was a POW for duration of WW2. God Bless you all! Jack D Keller Tail Gunner Toggleir A/C #231582 "Ol'Scrapiron"
