Time 8:30 pm Local Greenland time
Location Aboard the Kissavik, Eastern shore of the fjord

Today has been one of ups and downs. During the first dive of the day, the divers brought up a piece of metal that was clearly aircraft aluminum. A great deal of time was spent searching that area with divers, sonar and look-outs operating off of the Kissavik and its zodiacs. At the end of the day we have no new evidence, but we know more about where the airplane is not. This is all part of the inevitable process that comes with any kind of treasure hunt. Spirits go up and down, but the resolve to find the airplane has not weakened. In fact, the more areas we eliminate, the more excited the searchers are about finding current resting place of the "Sooner". While the sonar operators do their thing, there is a great deal of waiting and conversation. The day's weather was more of the same (rain changing to drizzle changing to rain etc.) until just after the evening chow was served. While everyone was back to the water one more time, the Sun broke through with the first real break in the weather since we arrived. As has happened the entire weak, just when everyone is a little discouraged, another positive reveals itself to lift the spirits. Tonight it is a beautiful early evening rainbow. No doubt a powerful good omen! Tomorrow, the team is reduced in size as the part-timers head back to their normal lives. The divers, sonar operators, submersible operators and ship's crews will continue the search few more days. It is only a matter of time and she will be found.................
